Why paint Butt?

I've painted since i was 10, starting out with Bob Ross, moving on to school and abstract modernism and then boredom and a slow death to painting. At 31, a slower life and house with a studio brought me back to painting, but it didn't come with subjects. When my boyfriend was given a Butt magazine 2010 calendar for his birthday it was a perfect starting point for my winter project. Great pictures make great subjects, so here we are.

this is my cozy little 3rd floor studio, formerly servant's quarters, lacking electricity except for a single hanging light bulb. just about perfect.
