A big part of this project is about being prolific and taking risks- be it style, technique, or color. This is really about growing as a painter and seeing where that leads me. Originally I planned one painting a week, now i'm consistently closer to two. And i'm enjoying it.
But... oil paints need time to dry, you can't stack them against the wall or pile them up until they have cured even if they dry to the touch in a week or two. Luckily I have 8 up at a show, but that still is leading to buildup, and so this weekend I built one of what may be many racks in my basement. An eight foot section gives me room for 15 paintings- I can't wait to see what it looks like in the end loaded up 3 high and 32 feet long!
